On Saturday morning September 10th, hundreds of residents, school students and fans gathered at the Central Park to witness the coronation of Miss San Pedro 2011-2012. The six beautiful ladies gathered on the stage as reigning Miss Natasha Stewart passed on the sash, scepter and crown on to Miss Yakarelis Hernandez, San Pedro’s newest beauty ambassador.

Following the coronation, the Mayor imparted gifts to all the contestants, following which they mounted their colorful float and lead the formal parade. The San Pedro High School girls awed the crowed with their baton twirling while the members of the Marching Band entertained onlookers.

The parade took participants down the main streets of San Pedro and back to the Central Park where the Rompe Raja band kept the crowd entertained. There were also many games for the entire family to enjoy, starting with the lime and spoon race, sack race, tug-o-war and a crowd favorite, the climbing of the greased pole and many more.
