Island residents invited to participate in 5K and 10K run

On Saturday, November 1st, the San Pedro Sports Committee (SPSC) will be hosting a five kilometer (K) and a 10K running competition. The competition is scheduled to commence from the Boca del Rio Park at 6AM. Runners of all ages and gender are invited to participate, as there are cash prizes and trophies to be won!42 San Pedro Running Competition
The competition will be divided into three main categories: male, female and group. The group category consists of teams of five members with at least four members completing the race to win. Each team participating in the group category must have of at least one female member and wear similar colored T-shirts to represent individual teams. A cash prize and trophy will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in the male and female category and the first and second place finisher in the group category. Trophies will also be given to age group winners. The age groups consist of 19 and under, 20-29, 30-29, 40-49 and 50 and above.
A $15 registration fee is being charged for 5K runners who will run from Boca del Rio Park to the Belize Yacht Club and back. 10K runners are being charged $20 and will run from Boca del Rio Park to the Belize Consolidated Water Service plant and back.

A meeting will be held on the registration date at the Island Galleria at 6PM. Everyone is invited to come out and support this fun and healthy initiative.
