Easter Pancake Bunny Brunch at Lion’s Den

Share

Entire families and volunteers gathered at the San Pedro Lions Den on Saturday, March 26th, for a fun-filled fundraising event. As part of their Easter celebration, the Lions Den hosted their fifth annual Pancake Brunch with the Easter Bunny, packed with many entertaining activities.Lions Bunny Brunch Pancake Easter-6
An all-time American breakfast favorite of pancakes was served with sausage links, orange slices and juice. Catering to children and allowing them to use their imagination, a table was set with both traditional and fun toppings of butter, syrup, chocolate syrup, jams, sliced bananas, shredded cheese, sprinkles, marshmallows, and jellybeans! It was fun to see the many edible combinations the little ones made!Lions Bunny Brunch Pancake Easter-13
As guests sat down, coloring pages and crayons were set at each table for children to express their artistic skills. After munching on their delicious breakfast, children took a shot at winning prizes by playing games like: pin the tail on the bunny, puzzle games, fishing for eggs and egg and spoon. A table was set for face painting with awesome designs like Easter eggs, rainbows, bunny faces, peace signs, and much more.Lions Bunny Brunch Pancake Easter-8
For an extra cost of $5, volunteers assisted children in creating crafts of butterfly clothespins, bunny pins and homemade Easter cards. As a surprise, a pair of life-sized Easter bunnies made an appearance, taking many photos and delighting the children.Lions Bunny Brunch Pancake Easter-10
This year, plenty of prizes were donated for a great raffle. Three Easter baskets, a sand bucket, play truck, chocolate from The Belize Chocolate Company, and dolls were up for picking! Children chose their favorites, investing wisely to try and win.Lions Bunny Brunch Pancake Easter-1
Event organizer, San Pedro Lion Tamara Sniffin, commented, “It’s hard to believe that this year is the fifth for this fun, family event. We love giving the children (and their families) the opportunity to enjoy some quality time together while getting into the Easter spirit, and who doesn’t love a pancake breakfast? Even though our turnout this year was the smallest we’ve ever had, we still had a little more than 100 people attend. It’s a big job coordinating this event and it couldn’t be possible without the many Lions, Leos and volunteers who helped. Of course the generous donations from local businesses to help offset our food expenses are tremendously appreciated as well. All proceeds collected will go into the Lions general fund which in turn we give back to the community during times of need.”

The San Pedro Lions would like to extend a special thanks to businesses who donated food: MADISCO, Running W Meats, The Greenhouse, Public’s Supermarket, Marina’s Superstore, Local Store, Save On, Wahoo’s Lounge, Mermaid Supermarket, Best Place, Super Buy, Caye Value, Mark’s Store, Caye Mart, La Divina Providencia and Al Maza Store. Raffle items were generously donated by Caye Supplies, Save On, Love Belize, A&R Store and Nellie’s Baby Nest. Together these fine businesses help the San Pedro Lions in meeting their mission to serve the community.
