Ministry of Health Donates Equipment to the Government Press Office

PRESS RELEASE – Belmopan. January 26, 2012. – The Ministry of Health officially handed over a number of audio/visual equipment to the Government Press Office yesterday at a small ceremony in Belmopan.

The equipment included two Miller tripods, one JVC Professional HD video camera and six Antonbaur batteries accompanied with two battery chargers among other complimentary equipment. Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Peter Allen handed over the donation to Mrs. Alyssa Carnegie, Director of the Government Press Office. The director expressed that the additional equipment would become very useful especially for her technical staff in the production of radio and television materials.

The equipment is valued at approximately fifty three thousand dollars. It was funded through the World Bank Grant for Avian and Human Influenza Detection and Response Project. The objective of the project was to strengthen Belize’s ability to detect and respond to potential H1N1 influenza epidemic, and build the overall surveillance capacity of its heath system. The project also included a campaign to expand public information. End.
