PC Sanchez questions witnesses during the investigation on Tuesday night after the hold-up.

One person was shot in an armed robbery on Caribeña Street in San Pedro Town. She is Zoila Garcia, an employee of Caribeña Enterprise Gas Station. The incident occurred just before 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17th. when Garcia and her coworker, Adolfo Gongora, were walking from the gas station, located beside the lagoon on Caribeña Street, heading towards their main office at Coral Cable Network, located on Pescador Drive, when they were approached by an individual who snatched a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash. At the time, Gongora was in possession of the money bag.
A second individual, who was armed, walk towards the two employees and fired one shot that caught Garcia in the back. First to arrive at scene minutes after the incident was The San Pedro Sun. In a joint interview with Reef Radio and The San Pedro Sun, investigating Officer Sergeant Paulino Reyes explained what happened. "From what we understand so far, the employees of Caribeña gas station were in the process of leaving the compound when they where approached by one dark skill male person who proceeded to snatch away a purse from one of the employees and ran back toward the direction of the lagoon. After this had happened, a second person also described of Creole descent fired a shot at the direction of the female which caught her some where in the back area." A single expended shell was found at the scene of the crime. The gun used was a nine millimeter.
Reyes added that after the men shot Garcia, they both ran in up the street and turned into Angel Coral Drive where a fleeing vehicle awaited them. Once they boarded their vehicle they made good their escape.
In speaking with The Sun at the scene, Doctor Otto Rodriguez explained that Garcia was stable. "Garcia is stable. She received two wounds; one entry wound on the right underarm area and another exit wound in the upper back area. She has been treated and released."
Sergeant Reyes commented that people saw what happened. "People have seen certain things out there and they have vital information that can assist us to identify who these people are. We need their assistance."
