Letter to the Editor: “Good Job Police!”

Share

A very proud Superintendent of Police Luis Castellanos, Officer in Charge of the San Pedro Police Formation, shared the following letter sent by a happy civilian.

Dear Mr. Castellanos,

I wanted to take this opportunity to put in writing my extremely positive experience with the San Pedro Police Department. I know I have talked with you about it while picking up a copy of the police report on January 23rd, but I feel a follow up e-mail is warranted.

On January 21, 2013, our condo at Sunset Beach was broken into and a computer, cameras, and watches were stolen. We immediately contacted the South Ambergris Neighborhood Watch program, and the following day we came to the Police Department to file a report.

We were treated with courtesy and professionalism throughout the experience: the greeting at the front desk; talking with the officer that took the report; and later obtaining the written report.

I have worked in Corrections for 30 years and have dealt with numbers of police jurisdictions and filed uncounted numbers of reports in my capacity of Prison Warden. My experience this month with the San Pedro Police Department was one of the most efficient and professional experiences I can remember.

Please pass our comments on to your staff. And, welcome to San Pedro!

Sincerely,
Kristine Shoemaker
