Police Report: July 18 – 24, 2012

Robbery

Godwin Staughan, tattoo artist reported that on July 23rd, 2012 about 8:30AM whilst he was in his yard two male persons approached him, where one of them took out a 9mm pistol and demanded his property. The men then stole a blue and white Alcatel cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash. Police investigations continue.

Theft:

On Monday July 16th at 8:45PM Dianelly Vega, 28 years, Belizean teacher of San Pedrito Area reported that between the hours of 12PM and 4:30PM on July 16th she left her purse containing (1) purple in color Nikon Camera, valued at $350.00 at her friend’s house, namely, Kims Opu, located in the said San Pedrito Area, San Pedro Town, when the said camera went missing. Statement was recorded from the complainant. Police investigations continue.

On Monday July 23rd Kevin Meyer 55 years old American businessman of San Pablo Area reported to the police that on Wednesday July 18th between the hours of 3:20PM and 4:30PM someone stole the following items from him: 1 IPod valued at US$300, 1 Samsung cell phone valued at US$200, 1 9.5 inch table computer value unknown, 1 digital camera valued at US$100, 1 HP brand laptop computer valued at US$700, 1 ECR Netbook computer valued at US$300, 1 keyboard valued at US$100, 1 Rolex men watch valued at US$700, 4 Kreyer brand men watches valued at US$500, 1 black in color Olvic brand watch valued at US$50, 1 grey in color 8G flash drive valued at US$20, and 1 backpack valued at US$30. All to a total value ofUS$3,000. Police investigations continue.

Drug Possession:

On Tuesday July 17th at about 8:10PM police conducted a search in an apartment on Glitter Street which led to the discovery of a plastic bag in a drawer in the bedroom containing leafy substance suspected to be Cannabis. At the time present were Percival Armstrong 38 years old Belizean laborer of the said address and Shadro Calderon, 19 years old Belizean laborer of the same address. The drug was weighed in the presence of both persons and amounted to 7.1 grams. Both persons were arrested and charged for possession of a controlled drug.
