The female football tournament continued on Sunday, June 7th, with two exciting matches at the Ambergris Stadium. Fans were treated to plenty of action as Pirates FC faced Fusion Flames, while Bay City took on C20FD.

San Pedro Athletes Compete at Garage Games XXL in Mérida

San Pedro athletes traveled to Mérida, Yucatán, to compete in the Garage Games Edition XXL. This regional CrossFit tournament drew competitors from across the region for two days of competition on May 30th and 31st. Two San Pedro gyms, Wodzone 2.0 and Next Level Training, sent teams to the event. The competition featured multiple divisions, with participants from San Pedro placing in the Beginner, Intermediate, and Masters II categories.

San Pedro Tiger Sharks Advance to NEBL Semi-Finals

After 14 weeks of basketball action, the National Elite Basketball League (NEBL) is heading into its semi-finals with four teams remaining in contention for the championship. Among them are the San Pedro Tiger Sharks, who battled through a challenging second half of the season to secure a playoff berth. Joining them in the semi-finals are the Cayo Western Ballaz, Orange Walk Running Rebels, and Belize City Defenders.

Softball tournament heads to finals

On Sunday, May 24th, San Pedro’s Annual Softball Tournament, held at the Honorable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex, featured two thrilling semi-final matches. Under hot and humid conditions, spectators watched the four remaining teams battle for a spot in the championship round.

A new football tournament featuring a female division kicked off on May 22nd at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town. The opening games featured the four teams competing in the women's category: C20FD, Fusion Flames, Pirates FC, and Bay City FC.

Softball tournament head into semi-finals

After weeks of competitive softball action, the regular season of the local tournament is coming to an end as teams prepare for the semi-finals scheduled for Sunday, May 24th, at the Honorable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Arena.

Sea Bulls FC crowned back-to-back Island League champions

For the third consecutive year, Sea Bulls FC has won the championship title of the Island Football League 2026 season. The championship match was played on May 16th at the Ambergris Stadium between Sea Bulls FC and Joker FC. The highly anticipated final delivered another memorable football showdown, with plenty of action, before heading into extra time and ending in a 2-0 victory for the defending champions.

Shark Cup Volleyball Tournament concludes with exciting finals

The San Pedro Belize Shark Cup Volleyball Tournament concluded on Sunday, May 17th, at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium at San Pedro High School, bringing together youth and senior teams from across Ambergris Caye for a full day of competitive volleyball action. Matches began at 4PM and featured divisions including U13 co-ed, U15 boys and girls, senior co-ed, senior female, and senior male categories. Medal and trophy presentations followed the tournament's conclusion.

SPHS Athletes Shine at National Track and Field Competition

San Pedro High School (SPHS) students Jaylen Jex and Jazmine Cocom returned to Ambergris Caye with medals following outstanding performances at the National Track and Field Championships held at Georgetown Technical High School in Stann Creek District. Jex’s impressive showing also earned her the opportunity to represent Belize at the upcoming Council for Sports and Recreation of Central America (CODICADER) Games 2026, scheduled for September 4-13 in Honduras.

Alysha Reymundo Obtains Sports Scholarship at U.S. College

Young island footballer Alysha Reymundo is preparing to head to the United States on a sports scholarship with Motlow State Community College in Tennessee. The college’s female football team previously visited San Pedro in 2023, where they played against the local team Isla Bonita United Ballers, for whom Reymundo was a key player. Since then, the Tennessee-based team has reportedly followed Reymundo’s development through her participation with the San Pedro High School (SPHS) football team, Belize’s women's national teams, and, most recently, during this year’s National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) women's championship.

Joker FC and Sea Bulls FC Head to Island League Finals

After weeks of intense football action, the Island League finals will see Joker FC and Sea Bulls FC clash for the tournament championship this weekend at Ambergris Stadium. Both teams secured their spots in the finals after overcoming their rivals during the semi-finals on the weekend of May 8th. Joker earned a comfortable victory, while Sea Bulls had to battle much harder to secure their ticket to the championship match.
