Dorados Football Club takes the lead in the Mayor’s Cup

The Mayor’s Cup five-a-side Football Tournament is already in its second week of games, and one team has quickly risen to the top: Dorado’s FC. The second week saw ten matches being played over three days of football fun. Each game day, loyal fans came out to the Honorable Louis Sylvester Arena to support their favorite team.
Mayor's Cup Football Tournament-2The first match on Thursday, November 6th saw Island Pure FC facing off against Airstrip Taxi Strikers FC. Both teams brought a good game, and Island Pure is not one to accept defeat easily! An unexpected late goal by Island Pure gave them the win with a 3-2 score. Next up was Eagles FC against Pro Divers FC. With no wins yet, Pro Divers FC desperately needed a victory and luckily they managed to defeat Eagles FC in a 2-0 point game.Mayor's Cup Football Tournament-1
On Saturday, November 8th the second game day saw three hot matches. Green House FC took on Dorados FC in the first match. Upholding their winning reputation, the mighty Dorados outscored their competitors with a 5-5 point final tally. In the second match, Warriors FC defeated Venecia del Caribe FC in a 4-1 point game. The last match of the night was between FC Aluminum Fabricators and Swampedrito Lazy Boyz. It was a tight match, but Swampedrito Lazy Boys managed to take the game with a 1-0 score.
The last game day of the first round was held on Sunday, November 9th. Games began at 3PM and saw five matches in total. Venecia del Caribe FC lost against Dorados FC in a 2-3 point match in the first game. The second game ended in 1-1 tie between Eagles FC and Airstrip Taxi Strikers FC. Green House FC faced off against Pro Divers FC in the third game of the day. Both teams wanted the win but it was Green House FC who ultimately took the lead in a 2-1 point game. Swampedrito Lazy Boyz lost their first game in the tournament to Warriors FC in a 0-1 point game. In the last match FC Aluminum Fabricators crushed Island Pure FC with a 3-0 score.Mayor's Cup Football Tournament-3
Dorados FC is leading the tournament with 12 points. Other team standings are as follows: Swampedrito Lazy Boyz in 2nd with nine points, FC Aluminum Fabricators in 3rd with seven points, Green House FC in 4th with seven points, Warriors FC in 5th with six points, Island Pure FC in 6th with six points, Eagles FC in 7th with four points, Pro Divers FC in 8th with three points, Venencia del Caribe FC in 9th with three points and Airstrip Taxi Strikers FC in 10th with one point. Top scorers of the tournament are Roy Bradley, Hazael Requena, Mario Chimal, Abi Andino, Nestor Cerpa, all with four goals.
