Minor Accident brings Traffic to a Standstill

Share

Traffic came to a temporary standstill shortly after 1:30PM today Friday at the junction of Coconut Drive and Tarpon Street, following a minor mishap. The incident involved an American tourist, 58 year old Susan Fessler of Huxley Iowa, who was driving a golf cart rented from Crystal Golf Cart Rental and a taxi driver.

Luckily, no one was hurt and neither of the vehicles was significantly damaged; however it was discovered that the insurance on the cart driven by Fessler had expired as of January 4th, 2012. Fessler told The San Pedro Sun that she was not feeling well and was on her way to a doctor when she believed that she suffered a temporary black-out, which may have caused the slight collision.

Both traffic personnel and Police were called to process the scene.

The San Pedro Sun will be following up on this story to investigate whether any charges will be made on either party for the expired insurance.
