Pop-Up Restaurant with Chef Gunter of Mathieu’s Deli

Saturday, September 24th saw one of the first restaurant collaborations in San Pedro, between Mathieu’s, the small restaurant that creates everything from scratch, from syrups and sauces, to bread, pasta and pastries, and Crave Restaurant and lounge. The owners of Mathieu’s Delicatessen, Gunter Mathieu and Anna Williams wanted to cater to their customers who had been asking them to open a full evening restaurant, and to give the opportunity to others who have been unable to sample Gunter’s lunchtime culinary delights.
The six course dinner at Crave featured “amuse Gueules”, bite sized delights of salmon on fresh baguette, salmon filled mini crèpes and barracuda sausage. The appetizer consisted of fresh chicken liver and prune paté, subtly flavored with cognac and accompanied by cranberry rye bread, home made mango chutney and drizzled with balsamic reduction.
