Police looking for more suspects in the double murder of Deon Faber and Allen Martinez
The arraignment of 25-year-old Anthony Carballo on Monday, March 25th for the murder of island residents Deon Faber and Allen Martinez did not close the case, as police continue to seek additional suspects. Police are looking for a female who is believed to have taken part in the shooting death of Faber and Martinez on March 21st in the Boca del Rio Area and has since left the island.

ICJ education campaign hosted in San Pedro ahead of the April national referendum
Former Ambassador and Minister of Foreign Affairs Assad Shoman and Jordan Craig from the Citizens for the Defence of Sovereignty held an informational session with islanders regarding the Guatemalan claim to Belize ahead of the national referendum on whether to take the issue to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Marco Gonzalez Archeological Site Celebrates Spring Equinox
The event, coordinated by the Board of Directors for the Belizean non-profit Marco Gonzalez Maya Site Ambergris Caye LTD, was complete with a Maya blessing ceremony, costumed individuals, Mestizo dancers, interactive exhibits, refreshments and more.

More golf carts arrive on the island
Another batch of brand-new golf carts (18) was seen arriving on the island on Tuesday, March 26th inside shipping containers. With the ongoing issue of traffic on the island, residents are increasingly concerned that these additional golf carts are an unnecessary addition to the saturation of motor vehicles on the island.

The island preschoolers culminated their Child Stimulation Month activities with a Preschool Expo under this year’s theme: “Hug me, Listen to me, Read with me, Help me Grow!” at the Central Park in San Pedro Town on Thursday, March 27th.
