A morning fire in San Pedro leaves a dozen families homeless
A large fire in the early hours of Sunday, December 29th, south of San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye, has displaced 12 families. The blaze destroyed two wooden structures and a metal-framed garage. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible act of arson. As part of the investigation, a female suspect is currently in custody.

Suspected Case of New World Screwworm (Cochliomyia Hominivorax) Identified
The Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) inform the public that a suspected case of New World Screwworm (NWS) is being investigated in the southwestern Toledo District. BAHA has dispatched technical teams to conduct the investigation, and the public will be advised of the progress.

Streets where even golf carts and other vehicles get stuck. Areas where residents live in fear that in the holes in the streets, which already look like lagoons, they will have an encounter with the crocodiles that have begun to feel so comfortable in our streets.

San Pedro Lions Club host annual Senior Citizen Gala and Christmas Caroling
The San Pedro Lions Club organized the annual Christmas dinner for the senior citizens of San Pedro Town on Thursday, December 19th. The invited guests were warmly welcomed by fellow Lions and Leos and treated to a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The island's senior residents also enjoyed drinks and an evening of entertainment featuring the popular island band Rompe Raja. The club was busy the following day, sharing the Christmas spirit with their traditional annual caroling.

The Inter-Office Football Tournament concluded on Sunday, December 22nd, culminating in an exciting match where Team Ramon’s Village Resort emerged as this year’s champions.
