Faith Edgar Delivers Powerful Presentation at Miss World Head-to-Head Challenge

Miss World Belize Faith Edgar continues to represent the Jewel at events leading up to pageant night on September 5th. Her presentation during the Head-to-Head Challenge on August 22nd captivated many as she delivered a touching speech about her passion for dentistry and the motivation behind her efforts to improve oral health among Belizean youth.
The Head-to-Head Challenge featured a series of personal stories accompanied by strong messages and examples of the Miss World organization’s Beauty With a Purpose initiative. Presentations addressed topics ranging from education and healthcare to bullying, environmental protection, animal welfare, disabilities, and personal experiences that have shaped the contestants’ lives.
Edgar was among the representatives from the Americas and Caribbean. Her presentation highlighted oral health, noting that only a small percentage of Belizeans regularly visit a dentist. Drawing from her experience in dental care, Edgar spoke about prevention, education, and the importance of making communities more comfortable seeking treatment.
“That is not just a Belizean issue,” she said. “Nearly 3.5 billion people worldwide are affected by oral health disease, making tooth decay alone the most common health condition worldwide,” Edgar told the audience, adding that a smile is a universal language and one of the first ways people communicate with each other. “As a future dentist, I didn’t just want to treat this disease; I wanted to prevent it before it even began,” she added.
Edgar leads the local organization Smiles for Belize, whose mission is built on three pillars: education, prevention, and access to care.
Back home in San Pedro, many supporters celebrated Edgar’s presentation through posts on social media. Several highlighted her growth in pageantry and commended her perseverance and hard work. Supporters continue wishing her well as she participates in the remaining activities leading up to the Miss World pageant.
As Miss World celebrates its 75th anniversary, the Head-to-Head Challenge continues to provide contestants with a platform to highlight causes and issues important to them. The challenge reflects the vision behind Beauty With a Purpose, an initiative associated with Julia Morley, Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of the Miss World Organization. Morley is the widow of Miss World founder Eric Morley, who established the international pageant in 1951 and led it until he died in 2000.
The Head-to-Head Challenge gives contestants a chance to go beyond the traditional aspects of pageantry, offering a platform to share their experiences, advocate for meaningful causes, and be heard.
