Team E & L successfully defended their title in the 2026 Legends Over 35 Football Tournament, defeating Old Boys 2-0 in the final on Friday, October 23rd, at the Ambergris Stadium. The reigning champions competed last year as Los Gaseros.
The championship match kicked off at 7:30PM, with a large crowd cheering on their favorite teams. The first half was evenly contested, with Old Boys pressing aggressively but unable to break through E & L’s defense. E & L also struggled to find an opening, as Old Boys blocked their shots on goal. The first half ended goalless.
A more organized E & L took control in the second half, limiting Old Boys’ opportunities. Their approach paid off minutes after the restart when they opened the scoring with a powerful long-range shot from the right. A couple of minutes later, they doubled their lead with another powerful strike into the back of the net.

Old Boys

Old Boys pushed to get back into the game but struggled against E & L’s solid defense. The defending champions continued to press forward but could not extend their lead. Their two goals proved enough to secure the 2026 title.

Following the match, Councilor Adaly Ayuso, accompanied by Miss San Pedro Elizabeth Grace Sanchez and members of the sports committee, presented the individual awards. Old Boys’ Heder Chacon received the Best Goalkeeper award, while Oliver Hendricks was recognized for scoring the most goals. E & L’s Orlando Jimenez was once again named Most Valuable Player.
Runners-up Old Boys received their medals and second-place trophy before E & L lifted the championship trophy, celebrating their second consecutive title in the annual tournament.
