Investigation into the fire in Boca del Rio still ongoing

Share

On Saturday, December 7th, a fire broke out on Barracuda Street, near the lagoon side of the Boca del Rio area, destroying a small wooden structure. The fire ignited just before 5PM and quickly consumed the building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Due to the total devastation of the wooden structure, authorities have not yet determined whether the fire was an act of arson or an accident. The investigation is ongoing.
Reports indicate that one of the tenants, a woman, was outside the house smoking when two individuals approached her. After a heated exchange, she left the property and walked two blocks away. While talking to a friend, two young men confronted her, accusing her of setting the fire. The situation escalated, leading to an assault on the woman, which was interrupted by bystanders who came to her aid.
Authorities are diligently working to uncover the events leading to the fire. The San Pedro fire station is still investigating and has not yet issued an official statement. As the investigation continues, residents remain vigilant and supportive of one another, hoping for answers and a resolution to this unsettling event.
