National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) Welcomes Financial Support from Taiwan for National September Celebrations

The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) is pleased to announce that as the main coordinating body for the National September Celebrations, it has received generous financial support from the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

 

His Excellency Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen, of the Republic of China (Taiwan) with Ms. Sapna Budhrani, President of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH).

 

The ceremony took place at the Embassy of Taiwan in Belize on September 1, 2020. His Excellency Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen reaffirmed Taiwan’s unwavering bond with the people and Government of Belize and conveyed congratulations on the upcoming 39th Independence Anniversary. He also reiterated that Belize is not alone in the current situation and it has been an honor for Taiwan to have also assisted with the COVID-19 crisis.

Ambassador Chen’s message was delivered to Ms. Sapna Budhrani, President of the NICH and Co-Chairperson of the National Celebrations Commission.

Belize and Taiwan are currently celebrating their 31st year of close diplomatic ties. NICH and the National Celebrations Commission wish to thank the people and Government of Taiwan for being a consistent and major contributor to Belize’s National September Celebrations. The support will be used to develop and broadcast virtual cultural events as well as highlight the enduring relationship between Belize and Taiwan.

The Hon. Patrick Faber, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture and Chair of National Celebrations Commission takes this opportunity to share his gratitude on behalf of the Government and people of Belize.
