BTB conducts rally with America’s Service Guru

Share

On Monday, November 7th the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) hosted a hospitality rally with special invited guest Ian Maksik at the San Pedro Central Park. The purpose of the rally was to bring stakeholders in the tourism industry to look at new ways to improve the industry in the hospitality area.

Renowned for his unique talent in service, Maksik kept the attention of the invitees throughout his motivational talk. He spoke of tactical, simple but yet important ways that one can adopt to improve their businesses, and in retrospect, the tourism industry. In speaking at the event, Maksik stated, “hospitality in Belize does not come from the lips, but from the heart,” meaning that actions speak louder than words. He encouraged those in attendance to “never choose to listen to the bad, always listen and hear only the good. By only choosing to hear the good, you improve yourself and in turn project yourself better.”

Having catered to more than 17,000 high-profile weddings and international events, Maksik is dubbed the “King of the Caterers.” He is now referred to as “America’s Service Guru.” While having the passion for what he does, Makisk has experience in hospitality in every way possible; from being a dishwasher to a manager to a business owner to a world renowned trainer.

Besides San Pedro, BTB also conducted similar rallies in Placencia, Dangriga, San Ignacio and ended in Belize City on Friday, November 11th.
