The Board of Directors of Belize Telemedia Ltd (BTL) is pleased to advise that it has appointed Mr. Rochus Schreiber as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BTL with effect Wednesday, April 5th 2017.
Mr. Schreiber takes over the day to day executive management of the company, filling the role that was last substantively held by Mr. Anwar Barrow, who vacated the role in February of this year. In the interim, Mr. Ivan Tesucum, BTL Chief Financial Officer, had been acting as company CEO. Mr. Barrow remains on the Board of Directors of BTL.
Mr. Schreiber boasts over 20 years of professional experience, including multiple executive positions in the fields of telecommunications, broadband and cable television. He has worked in diverse global settings throughout the Americas and Europe. Within the Caribbean region, he has served as CEO of Digicel’s local operations in Anguilla, Nevis and Montserrat.
His most recent assignment was as Sr. Vice President for Global Services at SeaChange International in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, a leading software and services provider for cable operators, telcos, mobile providers and media companies. There he managed US$60 million in global service revenue and led a team of 300 persons.
The Board is confident that Mr. Schreiber and the full BTL team will continue the company’s stated objective to become one of the top three regional leaders in the delivery of high quality mobile and landline broadband and telephone services.
