Share

Belize’s tourism industry continues to show impressive growth according to the Belize Tourism Board’s (BTB) recent mid-year tourism insight performance release. It is the first digitally interactive publication produced by BTB to provide the tourism industry with a snapshot of tourism trends occurring over the first six months of 2019. The publication is instead of the annual Tourism Digest that is produced at the end of the calendar year and contains an overview of arrival trends in the overnight and cruise sectors respectively.
The report states that the top ten activities that cruise passengers enjoyed doing while in Belize from January to June 2019 are cave tubing, Maya Temple visits, city tours, snorkeling, wildlife watching, swimming, airboat ride, horseback riding, rum tasting, and museum visits. The top ten sites that cruise passengers visited the most during that same period are Jaguar Paw, Belize City, Lamanai Archaeological Site, Altun Ha Archaeological Site, Old Belize, Goff’s Caye, Xunantunich Archaeological Site, Belize Old River, Bacab Eco Park, and Starfish Island.
