The San Pedro Police Formation was the recipient of a Jiyo Brand, 125 cc engine motorcycle courtesy of the Lebanese business community on the island.

The donation took place on Tuesday, April 21st, outside of the police station. On behalf of the island’s Lebanese entrepreneurs, Ayman Harmouch, alongside Deputy Mayor Gabriel ‘Gaby’ Nuñez, officially handed over the motorcycle to Officer in Charge of the Coastal Executive Unit (Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker), Superintendent Christopher Noble. The generous donation was reportedly made possible with the assistance of businessman Malak Harmouch of Local Hardware Store.

Noble told The San Pedro Sun he was surprised by the donation and is grateful for the help from the Lebanese business community, which has been instrumental in aiding islanders during the National State of Emergency caused by the pandemic COVID-19. This new resource is expected to further enhance the daily police patrols across the island, which have now been boosted up due to the current situation.

Noble thanked Harmouch for the motorcycle and reiterated the police’s pledge to continue keeping San Pedro Town safe.

This donation comes on the day that the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that one patient has fully recovered after testing negative for a second time.
