Over 75 senior citizens of San Pedro Town were treated to a night of holiday festivities on Tuesday, December 20th which was hosted by the San Pedro Lions Club as part of their calendar of activities the club has in place for the Christmas season. The Christmas Party is an annual event and included an appetizer, a turkey dinner with all its dressings, dessert, countless cocktails, gifts, music and dancing.

According to the President of the San Pedro Lions Club, Marina Kay, the party for the seniors is to show the club’s love and appreciation for the contribution these residents have made to the island community over the years. She said that often times the seniors are the forgotten part of the society and to provide some event demonstrating love and complimenting the holiday season, the club has adopted this annual activity that members look forward to yearly.

As has become customary, staff members from the San Pedro Belize Bank were in full force helping along with the Leo’s and members of the San Pedro Lions Club. After a night of dinner and dance, each senior citizen was presented with a gift provided by the Belize Bank Staff and members of the San Pedro Lions Club. Music for the party was provided by Rompe Raja while Mel Spain graciously prepared the food. The San Pedro Lions Club expresses thanks to all those that made the Senior citizen’s party a success.
