The SPSun’s 7th Annual Caribbean Christmas Colors: Festive & Bright!
Friday, December 23rd, 2011
The San Pedro Sun’s annual Caribbean Christmas Colors Contest featured three wise judges on decked out sleighs – er – golf carts as they drove around to every neighborhood (through puddles and all). They eyed the homes dressed in their twinkling finery, ready for the Christmas season. They took copious notes, they eyed every corner, and in the end, decided on their favorites.
The daunting task required the judges to pick winners in ten different categories, including Judges Choice/Best Overall, Most Creative, Best Theme, Jan Jensen Memorial Award, Editor’s Choice, Mrs. Claus Choice, Honorable Mention, Neighborhood Star, Best Business and Business Honorable Mention.
After four hours of canvassing areas from Boca del Rio to DFC, judges Rebecca Coutant (Sanpedroscoop), Charlene Woods (BC’s) and Rene Guzman deliberated the contestants and determined the lucky winners. Although the public was eager to learn who the winners were, the community was forced to wait for the official announcement in this issue of The San Pedro Sun.
All homes were truly winners and the joy that bright lights sparkling in the Caribbean skies can stir even the most dormant of holiday spirits. Winners can collect their prizes at The San Pedro Sun office located on Barrier Reef Drive above the Love Belize Gift Shop, after December 28th. The SPSun would like to thank all those who helped in making the annual contest a huge success. Special thanks go to the generosity of the sponsors in providing wonderful gifts for the winners.
