NOTICE TO BOAT OWNERS: ANNUAL LICENSING EXERCISE

belize port authorityThe Belize Port Authority (BPA) hereby informs the general marine public that the registration and licensing exercise for the year 2014 will commence on October 7th, 2013. During this exercise all vessels involved in coastal and river service shall be registered and licensed, including skiffs, Jet Skis, sailing vessels, launches, tugboats, barges, dredges or any other watercraft used to ply the waters of Belize, including the inland waterways, as required under the Laws of Belize, Chapter 234, Revised Edition- 2000, Harbours and Merchant Shipping Act.

1. Contact the BPA’s Office at (501) 223-0752 or [email protected] (Ms Swift) for the requirements for registration and licensing.
2. Important Note: Proof of address of Captains and Registered addresses of Vessels must be submitted with other documentation as a requirement to update registration information.
3. Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily during the concentrated and on-going exercises:

SCHEDULE

a. Belize City and surrounding Communities:
Commences October 7th, 2013, at the BPA’s Headquarters #120 North Front and Pick Stock.
b. San Pedro Town and surroundings:
October 7TH-11TH, 2013 at Fido’s Dock; thereafter at the BPA, Marine Office, San Pedro Town.
c. Big Creek, Independence, Monkey River and surrounding areas:
Commences October 7th, 2013 at the BPA Marine Office; inspection area: Mango Creek Public Pier/Hokey Pokey Pier.
d. Punta Gorda Town and surrounding Communities:
Commences October 7th, 2013 at the BPA Marine Office; Customs Building, Punta Gorda Town.
e. Caye Caulker Village:
October 15th-18th, 2013 at the Community Center.
f. Placencia and Seine Bight Villages:
October 21st-24th, 2013 at the Placencia Cooperative Building.
October 25th, Independence/Mango Creek, Monkey River Villages at Big Creek BPA Office.
g. Dangriga Town, Hopkins, Sittee River, Mullins River and surroundings:
October 28th – 30th, 2013 Dangriga Town and Mullins River at the Dangriga Help Age Building.
October 31st – Nov. 1st, Hopkins, Sittee River, and surroundings at the Sittee River Marina Dock.
h. Corozal Town, Consejo, Sarteneja, Copper Bank, Chunox Villages, and surrounding areas:
November 4th –6th, 2013 Corozal Town and Consejo Village at the Corozal Town Hall.
November 7th – 8th, 2013 Sarteneja, Copper Bank, and Chunox Villages.
i. Orange Walk Town, Lamani, Bomba, and surrounding Communities:
November 11th – 12th, 2013 Orange Walk Town and Lamani at the Lamanai Eco tour Ltd Center.
November 13th, Bomba and surroundings at Bomba Village.
