Doctor Maria Briceño joins the Polyclinic

A new doctor has joined the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic II family. Doctor Maria Elvirita Briceño started her first work commission at the Polyclinic on Monday, May 26th. Dr. Briceño is expected to be working at the Polyclinic for an extended period of time, and she is happy to join the San Pedro community.
Maria Briceno Doctor PolyClinic San Pedro-1Originally from Orange Walk Town, Dr. Briceño is a graduate from Facultad de Ciencias Médicas Manuel Fajardo in Cuba, where she studied for four years completing her medical studies in 2012. Dr. Briceño completed her two and a half years of pre-med studies at Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina in Cuba. Her call for medicine grew while working in a clinic after graduating from St. John’s Junior College, where she majored in General Studies. Dr. Briceño attended high achool at Muffles College and graduated in 2000.
As a general practitioner, Dr. Briceño enjoys interacting with her patients and fostering strong doctor-patient bonds. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and talking to them so that the consultation runs smoothly. Being able to make a difference in the lives of others is very important to me, so I aim to do my job as effectively as possible,” says Dr. Briceño.
Dr. Briceño is an active reader and enjoys meeting new people. She is looking forward to getting to know the San Pedro community and also enjoys the perks of working on the #1 island in the world.
