Island Cup Tournament set to begin

Football teams on Ambergris Caye are being invited to be a part of the first ever Island Cup Tournament. The competition is open to male football teams in San Pedro Town and they will be competing over the course of several weeks for cash prizes, trophies and medals.
SPSC Football Tournament Finals-4Local coordinator of the tournament, Ernildo Jones has indicated that a total of $5,000 dollars will be up for grabs for the top three teams that make it to the finals. First place will be awarded $2,500, second place $1,500 and third place will get $1,000. In addition, the top three teams will also get trophies, while the top team will get additional individual trophies for all players.
The tournament is expected to kick off on Sunday June 29th at the Ambergris Stadium. Registration fee is $100 and those interested in registering your team can get in contact with Jones at telephone (501) 662-2936.
