Crazy Canucks Trivia Night rakes in funds for Ambergris Caye Elementary School
Wednesday, July 16th, 2014
Crazy Canucks Beach Bar has certainly redefined the meaning of partying for a cause with its Saturday night trivia contest. On Saturday, July 12th they managed to raise $350 by auctioning a box of Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies, and the funds were donated to Ambergris Caye Elementary School (ACES) to provide tuition funding for underprivileged children.
The cookies were donated for auction by Cherol and Nick Drobot. A patron at the bar, Kurt bid for the cookies all the way up to $200. After winning the cookies Kurt, decided to donate them back to be auctioned for a second time since there were many hungry patrons. With a bid of $150 Mark won the cookies, which he generously shared with those at the bar.
In addition, Crazy Canucks also donates half of the monies collected in trivia contest entries to ACES. Many participants also donate portions of their winnings. So far the event has sponsored three students to attend school free of cost for a year. Big thanks to Crazy Canucks Beach Bar and to everyone for their continued support!
