San Pedro Lions bring Christmas Cheer to citizens of all ages

Share

For the past several years the San Pedro Lions Club has ensured that the residents of San Pedro enjoy the Christmas season. To spread the festive vibes, the Lions host two Christmas parties: the Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party and the Children’s Christmas Party. This year’s events were bigger and better, with more holiday spirit than ever!
Held on Thursday, December 18th, the Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party saw Lion members teaming up with the Belize Bank Limited, San Pedro Branch, to bring smiles to the faces of San Pedro’s seniors. Guests enjoyed themselves, mingling with the Belize Bank staff and Miss San Pedro Lions, Arlethe Lima. A three course meal was served along with refreshing drinks. The seniors also got to dance the night away to the best tunes from Rompe Raja. Lions Senior Citizens Party-4
Belize Bank has been assisting with the Seniors Christmas Party since its inception and is always happy to give back to the community. “It is our pleasure to be a part of this event and share some cheer with those who have served the community for so long. These seniors have all contributed to the growth and development of the island so it’s only right for us to give back to them. We would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Years,” said Belize Bank San Pedro Branch Manager, Maria Cervantes. At the end of the night, each guest received a gift bag as a token of appreciation.Lions Senior Citizens Party-1
Then on Sunday, December 21st it was all about the little ones at the annual Lions Children’s Christmas Party. Over a hundred children from across the island came out to receive their gifts from Santa Claus himself. With smiles on their faces, each child waited for their turn to meet Santa and receive that special Christmas gift, a few balked when they got close to Santa, but their gifts surely eased their fears. The children had definitely made it to the nice list, as they even received a goody bag filled with fabulous treats.Lions Childrens Party-2
The San Pedro Lions Club would like to thank everyone that made these two events possible. Big thanks also goes out to everyone that supports Lions’ fundraising activities throughout the year. Look out for their big New Year’s Eve party. It is certainly their biggest event of the year, and always draws a crowd!
