San Pedro Rotary Club sponsors book drive

Share

Do you have books that are collecting dust? Why not help out the San Pedro Public Library (SPPL) by donating your unwanted or unused books? As the Rotary Club’s mission is to improve the quality of life for millions of people around the world, the recently formed Ambergris Caye (RCAC) chapter has launched a book drive and will continue until the end of May.18 Book Drive
The club encourages the community to donate new and/or gently used books, and magazines to support the San Pedro Public Library. Drop boxes are currently placed at the following businesses around San Pedro: Casa Pan Dulce North, Sandbar, Coconut Carts, A&R, Crazy Canucks, Social Security Board, Stella’s Smile, Banyan Bay, and Victoria House.
So far, the RCAC has received two full boxes of books from A&R and Crazy Canucks. Additionally, Caye Casa is working with an educational publishing group in the United States to donate basic books and workbooks.
All collected books will support the town library by providing a new stock of books to promote literacy and encourage our youth to read more. The SPPL invites children ages 6 to 8 to join them for ‘Story Time’ every Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
