Arcadia University to host a variety of free seminars

A volunteer group from Arcadia University from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA will be hosting a series of free seminars starting Saturday, August 6th to the 19th. The seminars are divided into morning and evening sessions, and will be offered at the San Pedro Lion’s Den, Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic II, and the San Pedro Town Council Conference Room. From business to health and even education, lessons will be taught by select professors, and participants are invited to attend and receive useful information.Arcadia_university_logo

Business and Employment:
Leadership Training (Certificate Upon Completion)

Customer Service Training (Certificate Upon Completion)

Supervisory Skills Training (Certificate Upon Completion)
(August 8th, 6:30PM – 8PM at the San Pedro Town Council Conference Room)
Budgeting for the Small Business, home, life and family
(August 8th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
What is an employee? What is expected of you? How to land your first job, and keep it!
(August 10th, 9AM – 10AM, August 11th, 6:30PM – 8PM at the Lions Den)
Basic interviewing skills and application/resume completion
(Aug 10th, 10:15AM – 11:30AM Lions Den)
Health and Well Being:
Does my child have special needs or a learning disability?
(August 12th, 1PM to 5PM at the Polyclinic)
Education for Pregnant Woman. I’m pregnant, what does that mean? What can I expect?
(August 9th,10th and 11th, 6:30PM – 8PM at the Polyclinic)
High Blood pressure and diabetes screening and guidance
(August 9th, 11th, 6:30PM – 8PM at the Lions Den)
Nutrition – What is it? Why is it important? How do I plan a nutritious meal?
(August 15th and 17th, 6:30PM – 8PM at the Lions Den)
New Mother Support Group and information sharing session
(August 16th and 18th, 9AM – 11:30AM at the Polyclinic)
Basic Hygiene (August 16th, 6:30PM – 8PM at the Lions Den)
Education, Parenting, and Mental Health:
Education for the special needs parent (August 12th, 9AM – 11:30AM, LTBD)
Does this child have a learning disability? (August 12th, 1PM – 5PM at the Polyclinic)
Empowering Individuals and Developing Strong Families (Series):
Mental Illness and Depression (August 8th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Drugs and Alcohol (August 9th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Healthy Partners, Healthy Parenting (August 10th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Community Development Initiative (August 11th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Empowering Adolescent Girls (August 15th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Empowering Adolescent Boys (August 16th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Developing strong, healthy relationships between boys and girls (August 17th, 6:30PM – 8PM, location to be announced)
Post-Partum depression (August 16th and 18th, 9AM – 11AM at the Polyclinic)
