Share

Mayors and councilors forming the organization ‘Confederación de Asociaciónes de Municipios de Centroamérica y el Caribe (CAMCAYCA),’ and Caribbean Association of Local Government Authorities (CALGA), arrived at Ambergris Caye on Thursday, May 18th for a work visit.
Guests came from the countries of Panama, Guatemala, Jamaica, Dominica and the Bahamas. They were able to enjoy a glass bottom boat tour and visit Shark & Ray Alley where they snorkeled with the sharks, rays, and enjoyed the seascape of the area. Those who chose not to swim were still able to view the marine life below through the boat’s glass bottom.
After snorkeling, guests were hosted to great food and service at the Victoria House. They enjoyed the local musical talents of Mr. Wil & Dale. On behalf of San Pedro Town, Mayor Daniel Guerrero presented the visitors with a small souvenir for them to take back home. They were also given a mini tour from south of Ambergris Caye to north of the Sir Barry Bowen Bridge.
The guests stated that they definitely enjoyed themselves, and look forward to coming back. The San Pedro Town Council thanks CAMCAYCA & CALGA for visiting La Isla Bonita!
