Precautionary Measures for Preventing and Slowing the Transmission of COVID-19: G.O.B. Declaration of National State of Emergency

In conformity with the national effort to contain the COVID-19 pandemic and guided by the declared National State of Emergency and the Ministry of Health advisories, the public is hereby informed that the Fisheries Department’s Offices (Belize City and Punta Gorda) will be closed to the public effective April 02, 2020 until further notice.

Fishermen are informed that fishing activities will be permitted outside of the declared curfew hours (8:00 PM to 5:00 AM). The public is also informed that the marine reserves will be closed to visitation until further notice.
