Belize Diagnostic Center to offer concierge services for COVID-19 rapid testing

Share

A concierge service providing rapid testing for COVID-19 will start operating in San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, on Sunday, January 24th. Belize Diagnostic Center’s (BDC) unique service provides travellers with the test required before traveling abroad. Testing will take place wherever the guest is staying by making a prearranged house call. The cost is US$75, and reservations can be made by calling the phone number 613-7743. Test results are available onsite within 30 minutes.

The service comes after the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that effective January 26th, all travellers to the US must produce a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure.

The Belize Diagnostic Center is in the Grand Caribe area north of San Pedro. They will be fully operational with walk-in and concierge services wherever needed across the island. Tourism stakeholders can call and arrange for their guests to be tested in the comfort of their accommodations without having to leave the property.

The services are not only isolated to Ambergris Caye but other parts of the country. The BDC will also operate in Caye Caulker, Belize City, San Ignacio, Placencia, and Hopkins. BDC’s rapid testing service is CDC compliant and has the support of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Belize Tourism Board.
