On Monday, April 12, 2021, Hon. Florencio Marin Jr., Minister of National Defence and Border Security, received a courtesy visit from Lieutenant Colonel Reiner Jantos, Germany’s Defence Attaché, at the Curl Thompson Building, Belmopan.
During their meeting, Minister Marin and Lieutenant Colonel Jantos pledged to continue to promote the spirit of goodwill and mutual interests and to strengthen the existing good relationship of cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed training opportunities for the military forces.
Minister Marin was accompanied by Hon. Oscar Mira, Minister of State in the Ministry; Brigadier General (Ret’d) Dario Tapia, CEO in the Ministry; Admiral John Borland, chief of defence staff in the Ministry; and Hon. Ramiro Ramirez, Minister of State in the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government. Accompanying the Defence Attaché were Lars Behrend, First Secretary for Mexico and Central America, and Sergeant Major Sascha Peters.
