The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) organized the third market day on Saturday, May 29th at the Honourable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex. As with the previous events, the field was blanketed with booths showcasing several large and small businesses offering a wide variety of products throughout the day.
The commerce-geared event was again deemed a success, with shoppers enjoying their pick of fresh fruits, vegetables, local cuisine, promotion on phone products, gardening, clothing, information booths of first aid kit, emergency services, souvenirs, and a beer garden. There were great deals, and many islanders, including tourists, took advantage of the occasion and visited the market day.
Participating business operators continue to welcome this initiative introduced by the SPTC. Many of these businesses have struggled economically since the COVID-19 pandemic devastated the island’s economy. According to the participants, the event provides a setting that attracts patrons to their businesses and increases sales. Market Day is considered an excellent opportunity for businesses, especially new and small ones.
