Belize Coast Guard Participates and Successfully Completes Joint Airborne Operations in Tradewinds

Tradewinds 2021 (TW21) Regional Security System (RSS) Joint Exchange International Paratrooping Training Exercise concluded on June 20th, 2021 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Guyana following a tactical display of airborne manoeuvres from more than 100 paratroopers.
The airborne exercise saw paratroopers from Guyana (GDF) teamed with their counterparts from the U.S Army, Brazil, Belize (BCG) and France to perform Static Line jumps aboard two UHS Black Hawk helicopters, in chalks of six from 1500 feet.
Tradewinds 2021 is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored Caribbean security-focused exercise in the ground, air, sea, and cyber domains, working with partner nations to conduct joint, combined and interagency training focused on increasing regional cooperation and stability.
Of note, it is the first time that Belize participates in airborne operations for Tradewinds. Currently, there are 06 BCG personnel conducting training in TW 21 which culminates on June 26, 2021.
