Tropic Air adds a new Cessna Grand Caravan EX to its fleet

Share

Tropic Air is a domestic airline in Belize that provides services throughout the country and to neighboring countries. The airline recently invested in a new Cessna Grand Caravan EX, marking a significant addition to its fleet. Founded in 1979, Tropic Air has been essential to air travel services in Belize, particularly to areas like San Pedro on Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker Village.

The Cessna Grand Caravan EX, which can accommodate up to 14 passengers, is ideal for island hops and flights to remote areas, central to Tropic Air’s daily operations across Belize. Introducing this aircraft is expected to enhance service frequency and capacity, catering to the growing tourism and local travel demand. Chief Executive Officer and Owner Max Greif expressed excitement about the new addition, stating, “It helps us achieve better ways of air travel for passengers and their goods.” He further emphasized that this aircraft would facilitate timely travel, enabling passengers heading to Ambergris Caye to avoid delays.
This new airplane presents significant opportunities for San Pedro Town and wider Belize. Given that San Pedro is a popular tourist destination, there is a strong need to transport tourists from Belize City and other locations. The Grand Caravan EX’s enhanced capacity and improved flight frequency should positively affect local tourism and the economy. According to Greif, the new aircraft increases fleet assets without disrupting tourism in San Pedro, ensuring that demand is adequately met.
Ina Press Release Greif say,“Our investment in this aircraft is not only for Tropic Air but for Belize and its future growth. This addition reflects our commitment to safety, strengthens our position as Belize’s largest airline offering the most flights, and allows us to confidently expand our service as Belize continues to grow. We are proud to support Belize and most importantly, the communities we serve.”
