After some uncertainty, the 2024 Holiday Lighted Boat Parade has been scheduled for Saturday, December 14th. The traditional event ushers in the holiday season, brightening the coast of San Pedro with twinkling lights, happy people, and Christmas galore. Participation is free, and anyone interested can call or message 610-1690.
This year, the San Pedro Tour Operators Association is organizing the parade in collaboration with the office of the Honourable Andre Perez, My Lights, the San Pedro Town Council, and the Belize Tourism Board. Over 25 boats have signed up to participate in this festive occasion. Organizers have also announced that participants will receive allowances to purchase boat lights.
The parade is set to start after sunset at around 5:30 PM. It will begin in the Central Park, heading north to Grand Caribe Resort, then making a U-turn to Alaia Beach Resort where it will make one final U-turn concluding at Central Park.
With the Christmas tree lit at the central park and additional decorations in place, Saturday evening is expected to be a delightful family experience. Organizers have also indicated that they will be collecting donations at the park to support the Caye Caulker Ocean Academy High School students and staff affected by a traffic accident on November 29th.
Everyone is invited to come to the central park to view and enjoy the holiday boat parade. Although the lighted boat parade has been interrupted several times due to various circumstances, it has a long-standing tradition. This year’s event promises to be another unforgettable experience that will enhance the San Pedro Christmas spirit on the island.
