On Sunday, December 15th, the Hellfighters Foot Soldiers Ministry hosted its annual toy drive in San Pedro, Belize, to spread joy and holiday cheer among local children. 2024 marked the seventh consecutive year holding the toy drive. Pastor Roberto Sabino, President of the Hellfighters Ministry, explained that the drive is part of the ministry’s ongoing commitment to community service and outreach, particularly during the festive season.
The toy drive occurred at Pastor Roberto Sabino’s home in San Pedro Town, which also serves as the Hellfighters Ministry’s base. Volunteers from the ministry gathered to distribute toys to children from various backgrounds. The initiative was designed to provide gifts and foster community and belonging among the youth. President Roberto emphasizes the importance of these efforts in bringing the community together. “We help the kids on the island. We go out and pick up the kids, bring them back to my house, and have a service with them; we also have snacks for them.” He continued, “We go out every Sunday, and it’s our heart and our blessing that we could have this Ministry to provide a blessing for kids on the island.”
The event attracted families throughout the area, highlighting the ministry’s role in uniting people during Christmas. Many children participated in the toy distribution, receiving gifts that included dolls, action figures, educational toys, and sports equipment. Before the distribution, a brief service was held, and a meal was shared with those in attendance. The ministry’s volunteers worked diligently to ensure that each child received a gift and snacks such as bananas, apples, grapes, and other fruits, demonstrating their commitment to making the holiday season memorable for every participant. This year’s event saw more donations than previous years, showcasing the growing support from local businesses and community members who contributed toys and funds to the cause.
The toy drive also included activities like games, music, and refreshments, creating a festive atmosphere that encouraged families to celebrate together. Local leaders and community members thanked the Hellfighters Foot Soldiers for organizing such a meaningful event. Many parents noted the positive impact of these initiatives on their children, emphasizing how these moments of joy can uplift spirits during challenging times.

Looking ahead, the Hellfighters Foot Soldiers Ministry plans to continue expanding its outreach programs beyond the holiday season. It aims to maintain its year-round activities focused on youth development and support for families in need. The success of this toy drive has inspired it to seek additional partnerships with local organizations to enhance its impact within the community.
