On Wednesday, December 11th, The Island Academy (TIA) held its 29th Annual Christmas Pageant, delighting parents, friends, and special guests with another spectacular show. The traditional holiday event featured performances from junior and senior students, including plays and Christmas carols.
The show began at 7 PM with the Beginners singing “Mi Burrito Sabanero,” followed by “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.” Infants 1 and 2 students then performed “The Hat I Got for Christmas is Too Big,” along with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” The Standard 1 class presented “Mistletoe” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
A highlight of the pageant was the musical play “A Dickens of a Christmas,” based on Charles Dickens’s classic tale, “A Christmas Carol.” Students from Standard 2 through Standard 6 presented this performance. The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge as the ghosts of Christmas past, Present, and Future visit him. Through this journey, Scrooge confronts the consequences of his selfishness and learns to honor Christmas in his heart.
The play also featured beloved characters such as Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig, and Tiny Tim. Not only did the performance entertain the audience, but it also showcased the impressive theatrical talents of TIA’s students.

As the audience cheered following the performances, the entire student body, accompanied by the school’s founder, Lady Dixie Bowen, and the teachers, took the stage to sing the classic “Feliz Navidad.” Parents, friends, and other guests joined in, joyfully singing the popular Christmas song as the show ended.
Lady Bowen thanked the students and teachers for organizing another extraordinary Christmas pageant. She invited everyone to stay and mingle after the show while enjoying food and refreshments.
