Team Old Boys continue to lead the standings in the Over 35 Cup Football Tournament. After Week 6, the team remains in first place with nine points and remains one of the tournament favorites. Matches are held weekly at the Ambergris Stadium.
In the latest match, played on August 21st, E & L FC took on Old Boys. The tournament leaders went on the offensive from the beginning, applying pressure and controlling possession. However, a determined E & L side challenged the leaders and ultimately secured the victory. With the win, E & L earned two additional points and climbed to second place in the standings with eight points.
The second game of the evening featured San Mateo FC against United FC. United had remained near the bottom of the standings for several weeks and entered the match determined to improve its position. Both teams had recorded only one victory heading into the encounter, with San Mateo holding the better goals-against record. The competitive match saw both teams creating opportunities, but United FC secured the victory. The win brought United to seven points and moved the team into third place.
Following Week 6, Old Boys lead the standings with nine points and a record of three wins, no draws, and two losses. E & L FC sit in second place with eight points from two wins, two draws, and one loss. United FC are now third with seven points after two wins, one draw, and two losses. Caye Caulker sit fourth with six points from two wins and two losses, while San Mateo FC are at the bottom of the standings with four points from one win, one draw, and three losses.
The Over 35 Cup football action continues this weekend at the Ambergris Stadium, with matches starting at 7PM.
