Two bodies found in shallow grave in Northern Ambergris Caye

Authorities on Ambergris Caye are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two bodies found in a shallow grave. They were found sometime around 11:40AM about 11 miles north of San Pedro Town on Wednesday, February 18th. Police have confirmed their identity as Benjamin Molina and Selvino Chi, both originally from the Corozal District. According to police the two were reported missing earlier today and police visited the area where they were last seen.
Investigators were led to a blood trail and upon searching the area, they came across a shallow grave. The grave was located about 150 feet away from the beach in a bushy area. While police have not released any further details, they believe it may be drug related. Police have not stated the condition of the bodies but said they were in a single grave about one and a half feet deep.
Police continue their investigation.
