Julian Trapp killed and his brother Armando injured in San Pedro Town shooting

Police have launched an investigation into a late-night shooting at a beach bar and grill located in Boca Del Rio in San Pedro Town on Thursday, October 11th, which led to the death of 21-year-old Julian Trapp and his 27-year-old brother Armando injured. While socializing at the beach bar, Julian, a mechanic of the DFC Area, received fatal gunshots wound to the left side of the chest, two to the left lower abdomen entrance and exit, two to the upper left leg entrance and exit, one to the left upper leg, one to the right lower back, one to the left buttock and one to the right buttock. Meanwhile, Armando received one gunshot wound to the right forearm.

The official Police Report states that Julian and Armando Trapp and two other persons were socializing at the beach bar around 10:30PM when a man wearing a fisherman’s mask (buff) came from out of the beach mangroves across from the bar, firing several shots in their direction. Four GFL Luger brand 9mm expended shells and three blood swabs were retrieved from the scene. Julian Trapp passed away while undergoing medical treatment at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Poly Clinic II and was pronounced dead at 10:34pm by the attending physician. The body is awaiting transportation to the Belize City morgue for a Post Mortem Examination.

According to an eyewitness, Trapp went to order wings, and while he waited, he ordered a couple of beers. While socializing, two masked men approached him and fired several shots at him. “I didn’t get a chance to see who it was as they were fully covered. After they shot Trapp, they instantly ran,” said the eyewitness.

As investigations continue, San Pedro Police ask the community to kindly report any information that can lead to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for Trapp’s death at 206-2022 or visit the station on Pescador Drive. The Trapps are no strangers to police. On Sunday, April 8, 2018, Armando Trapp was shot at a family member’s residence near Ambergris Stadium. According to the report, Trapp went downstairs of the building for his bicycle when he was approached by a male person who fired several gunshots in his direction. The suspect made a quick escape before he could be identified.

On December 25, 2016, Julian Trapp was arrested for burglary after it was reported that he stole 1) Grey and Black 32 inch Phillip Television valued at $800BZ, (1) Grey and black iPhone 5s valued at $1130BZ and $115 BZ cash from an acquaintance’s home.

Their brother Alfredo Trapp was charged and jailed for the murder of 42-year-old taxi driver Jose Rigoberto Beltran on April 28, 2015. After the gruesome discovery of Beltran’s body in the San Juan Area of San Pedro Town, Luis Campos, Mark Arzu, and Santos Garcia were arrested and charged for murder on May 5th. Alfredo Trapp remained at large until he was apprehended on May 7, 2015.
