Caye Caulker man fined for stealing two bottles of liquor

34-year-old Gerson Guerra, a labourer of Caye Caulker Village was fined $1,000 for stealing two bottles of liquor, when he appeared before Magistrate Emerson Banner on Thursday, October 10th in Belize City. Guerra has until November 1, 2019 to pay, or he will serve one-year imprisonment.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, October 6th, at a Chinese store in Caye Caulker, where Guerra entered and stole a quart of Bailey’s and one quart of Absolute. Guerra then headed to the beach where he drank the liquor. Afterward, he went to the Caye Caulker Police Station and surrendered himself.
The combined value of the stolen liquor is $270.
