A police report indicates that around 2:30AM on Saturday, Brakeman brutally attacked and kidnapped Sabela in San Pedro Town. Sabela, a resident of the San Pablo subdivision, was at home with her children and a roommate when the incident occurred. She reported that her ex-husband broke down the door of her residence and began beating her with a stick. Sabela’s roommate was also injured during the attack.

Sabela remembers that while Brakeman was beating her, he told her that she could not leave him. After knocking her unconscious, he took her in a golf cart and then placed her on a jet ski, heading out to sea. When Sabela regained consciousness, she realized they were bound for Caye Caulker. She managed to jump off the jet ski and swam to Caye Caulker, where she sought help at the police station. Upon her arrival, the report indicated that she was bleeding profusely from a large cut on her forehead and left cheek, and her face was swollen. She was taken to the Caye Caulker Polyclinic for treatment and transported to Belize City later that day.
Sabela left Brakeman in July of last year, and a restraining order was issued against him. The police are continuing their search for Brakeman and are asking the public to report any information about his whereabouts to their nearest police station. During a press conference in Belmopan City, police stated that Brakeman is expected to face multiple charges once apprehended.
