Police arrested and charged two minors for the burglary of a downtown grocery shop on Pescador Drive. The duo spent little time behind bars as they each managed to secure a $3,000 bail. They are to report back to San Pedro Magistrate Court on November 21, 2019.
The conditions of the bail for one of the accused had him relocated to the mainland, where he will be residing with his father. He is required to report to the Belmopan Community Rehab Department Office every Friday, while the second accused is to report to the San Pedro Police Station every Friday.
According to the owner of the downtown business, a group of about four young male persons broke into their shop on Thursday, September 26th. The thieves gained access to the store through one of its glass windows. The culprits made off with several items from the store, including several bottles of expensive liquor and computer laptops. All items are estimated to cost over $5,000.
From the allegedly four persons involved in the burglary, only two were charged with the offense of burglary.
