85 students graduate from San Pedro Roman Catholic School
Monday, June 22nd, 2020
As graduation season continues on Ambergris Caye, on Friday, June 19th, the San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) graduated 85 students. The commencement exercise was held under the theme, ‘It is in your hand to make of our world a better one for all,’ and was divided into brief sessions with different groups of students showing up at the school’s compound to receive their Standard Six Certificates. This extended graduation event, triggered by the current COVID-19 pandemic, went on until late in the afternoon.
The Salutatorian Address was delivered by graduate Kristian Bardalez, while Jarvin Velasquez made the Valedictorian remarks. The Vote of Thanks came from Radley Rodriguez. All the speeches were pre-recorded and shown via a projector during the brief ceremonies.
Each group of students attended the short function and proudly received their certificates and awards. Afterward, they mingled with their family and friends and took the time to take some pictures of the memorable moment.
As per tradition, the Valedictorian Torch is passed on to a Standard Five student with the highest GPA. The handing over of the torch took place outside of the graduation ceremonies and went to Standard Five student Alanna Nuñez.
