Holy Cross Anglican School Offering its 3rd SPICE Culinary Program Starting May 5

After two successful culinary classes and 17 graduates, Holy Cross Anglican School is excited to announce that it will be starting the third SPICE (San Pedro Institute of Culinary Education) course on May 5, 2026 with 30 classes one night per week through December, culminating in a celebratory graduation dinner.

Hol Chan inspires young minds during Child Stimulation Month

Hol Chan Marine Reserve marked Child Stimulation Month by engaging preschool and primary school children in a series of educational activities focused on marine conservation and environmental awareness. The initiative centered around the Hol Chan Education Center, which opened on May 14, 2025, and served as the hub for the month-long activities. The program included storytelling sessions with preschoolers, guided tours, and glass-bottom boat trips to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, offering children a firsthand look at Belize’s marine ecosystems.

Government Partners with Robotics Federation to Expand Robotics in Schools

The Ministry of E-Governance, the Robotics Federation of Belize, and VEX Robotics launched a national robotics initiative on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Belize City. Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño, who also serves as Minister of E-Governance, participated in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) alongside Federation President Jamie Usher and VEX Robotics representatives. The event attracted students, including those from Belize High School (BHS), who demonstrated live robots.

GOB Launches Digital Literacy Training Initiative

On February 13, 2026, the Government of Belize, through the Ministry of E-Governance, partnered with the University of Belize (UB) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to soft-launch the Digital Literacy Training to Citizens initiative. The virtual and in-person ceremony marked an important step toward expanding nationwide digital skills training, targeting Belizeans of all ages, backgrounds, and locations.
