Los Yonics to headline International Costa Maya Festival 2013!

25-Los-Yonics-WebThe International Costa Maya Festival is scheduled to take place from August 1st to August 4th, and will be featuring several fabulous cultural activities, as well as the yearly pageant for the Reina de La Costa Maya. This year’s highlight performance will be coming via the Latin Grammy-Nominated band Los Yonics. With over 30 albums released since the Mexican pop group formed in the 1970’s, Los Yonics will be bringing hours of music for all to enjoy.

A brief history of Los Yonics:
Los Yonic’s began playing together in San Luis Pedro but later moved to Acapulco, playing both tropical pop music and ballads. Members of Los Yonics are: Johnny Ayvar – lead vocals; Jose Manuel Zamacona – vocals, guitar; Mountain Martin – piano; Bruno Ayvar; Oscar Perez; Eduardo Corner – saxophone, flute; Vincente Martinez – saxophone, flute.

Their music became very popular among American-Hispanics in cities such as Los Angeles, San Jose, Phoenix, Arizona, and El Paso. They had a string of #1 albums on the Billboard Regional Mexican charts in the 1980s, have been recipients of countless awards, and have continued to enjoy chart success on the American market since. Today, Los Yonics have proven to be a strong and united group with a spot on the list of true legends of regional Mexican music. They will be on La Isla Bonita, performing what is sure to be a legendary concert. See you there!!
