San Pedro Dance Academy Christmas Show-6The San Pedro Dance Academy presented their final show of the year entitled The Tropical Nutcracker. The much anticipated annual Christmas show took place at the Rafael Angel Nuñez Auditorium on Sunday December 15th. The annual Christmas program is the dance group’s way of saying thanks to the community for their constant support.
San Pedro Dance Academy Christmas Show-1The program story was about a girl who wanted to take a Christmas trip away from the cold snow and travel to a tropical paradise of sun, beach and sea filled with fun. The dancers brought the stage to life with a tropical Christmas theme in a 45 minute non-stop presentation. A total of 46 dancers from beginners, beginners-advance, juniors and seniors combined the holiday theme with various tropical musical songs. From the traditional Belizean brukdown and punta to the Latin salsa and bachata, all the sections of the show were strategically choreographed and fussed the music selections into a Christmas theme. Combined with their outfits, The Tropical Nutcracker dance and music presentations captivated the attention of the audience who throughout the show cheered and clapped for the participants.

The program, which was well attended, has been a signature dance presentation on the island each December and this year it was one of the best. Congratulations to all those who did a wonderful job in putting the show together. A similar show, free to the public, will be offered at the San Pedro Central Park on January 26, 2014. The San Pedro Dance Academy would like to thank all their students and parents as well as those who made the Christmas show a great success.
